In the Visual Performing Arts Department, students can major in two different tracks for arts. They can look at graphic design or they can look at Studio Arts. And as far as the performing arts, students can continue to participate in various music events. We have choir, we have band, we have orchestra. And students can also participate in theater. Our facilities are some of the top in the Midwest, students can enter one of the most prestigious performance halls in this region.
The space has an air about it of performing it is in its DNA. You feel it, if you are singing in Carol, it is the place to be. You immediately have presence,it's a perfect space for performing.
A lot of my talents that I've been available develop here have been developed in the Helene Center, which in my opinion is it's my it's my favorite facility on campus. I do a lot of my work in the Mac lab, and there's plenty of resources there for you to work with. And, you know, it's one of those places where you just get to focus on your work and it's a place of creativity where cool things are made.
Students get to form relationships with the professors that kind of go beyond academics and into the career world. My vocal professors, he was the one that connected me to la musica Lyrica, which is an opera program in Italy that I did get accepted to. I have now connections there already to have my first step as a career into the performing world.
