So the School of Ed, our conceptual framework is that teachers care, collaborate, lead and reflect. And so our whole program is designed around that. Every person and every job, whether you're a doctor, a lawyer, whether you're a sanitation worker, whether you work for Peace Corps, AmeriCorps. Everyone has moved through the public school or private school system. Teachers touch all of them. If you want to make a difference, and you don't know how yet, but you are committed to making an impact in the world. Teaching is a natural place for you.
So within the School of Education, you can do get to know your professors very well, because you'll have three or four classes with them throughout your whole schooling here. And that's just an amazing thing because they can help you network, and because they've already done this all before-- show you how to get teaching jobs in the future.
I think Graceland is giving students an opportunity to get into the classroom and to do observations, which I think is essential for teacher experience. There's only so much you can learn from books and that's something as a teacher, we try to tell our students, and Graceland tells their student teachers
Seeing other leaders-- Teachers lead a whole classroom, and just letting that be the example, it's just helped me to be a better leader and a better person overall.
